Nearing Tacoma, take the Hwy 16 'Gig Harbor / Bremerton' Exit; go West on Hwy 16 about 2.5 miles. Soon after you pass the landmark of Cheney Stadium, take the 19th Ave West exit. Stay on 19th approximately 1.5 miles; you will pass the Tacoma Community College campus on your right. Continue on 19th until you reach Bridgeport Way.(*Note: because this juncture sits on the line dividing Tacoma from University Place, the corresponding street signs will alternatively refer to the street as Bridgeport Way on the South side, and Jackson Ave. on the North side. They are one and the same streets.) Turn left on Bridgeport, and travel South about 1/4 mile.
